Apple has released the trailer for its new four-part documentary series 'Lincoln’s Dilemma', which will premiere on TV+ on Friday, February 18th.
The series is a modern-day examination of Abraham Lincoln in the context of his times and will feature never-before-heard stories as well as close-up perspectives of him as a man. The series will explore a side of Lincoln rarely seen and provide a fresh perspective on a story that feels more timely and relevant than ever when explored alongside the events that Americans are living through today. It will feature insights from journalists and scholars, as well as a range of archival materials that offer a more nuanced look at Lincoln's life.
Narrated by Jeffrey Wright, and featuring the voices of Bill Camp as Abraham Lincoln and Leslie Odom Jr. as Frederick Douglass, the docu-series is set against the backdrop of the Civil War and gives voice to the narratives of enslaved people, shaping a more complete view of an America divided over issues such as economy, race and humanity. The trailer gives us a look at some of the stunning animation and artwork used to highlight a side of Lincoln that's never been seen before across its four parts.
Up Next: The series is based on the award-winning book 'Abe: Abraham Lincoln in His Times' by acclaimed historian David S. Reynolds, which is available on Apple Books.
Lincoln's Dilemma can now be pre-added to your Up Next queue.
