Farahani and Nassar will star as Aneesha and Ahmed Malik, two first generation Syrian immigrants living in New York City while Kutsana will play MitsukI, a mission control officer in Japan.
Written and produced by Simon Kinberg (‘The Martian’) and David Weil (‘Hunters’) and directed by Jakob Verbruggen (‘Black Mirror’), ‘Invasion‘ is set to be Apple’s biggest scale original series to date. Filmed in the US, UK, Morocco and Japan with a reported budget of $200 million, production was temporarily halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic but resumed in February 2021 with shooting concluding in Greenwhich, London.
