Rose Byrne's storied career has often seen her on-screen portrayals described as unnervingly intense and the epitome of Girlboss - A neologism, popularised by Sophia Amoruso, which denotes a woman "whose success is defined in opposition to the masculine business world in which she swims upstream."

The full trailer for Physical teases Byrne as a 1980's San Diego housewife, who, despite a husband reeking of toxic masculinity, a vicious inner-dialogue and misgivings of her self-image, begins her ascension to Girlboss by way of a booming aerobics empire.

The dark-comedy series consists of 10 half-hour episodes created by Annie Weisman (Desperate Housewives) and features a predominantly female-led credit-roll that includes direction from Liza Johnson and Stephanie Laing, who executive produced alongside Weisman, Byrne, Becky Clements, Alexandra Cunningham, Sera Gamble and co-executive producer Rosa Handelman.

On-screen talents include Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Ashley Liao, Paul Sparks, Lou Taylor Pucci and comedian Rory Scovel. He recently described preparation for his brief nude scenes on the show as lacking in motivation to work out or eat right despite knowing a worldwide audience would eventually see him in the buff.

Given all of the stars that have aligned for this project, we've got high hopes for this one. Before you break out the spandex and the sweatbands, check out the full trailer below before pre-adding the upcoming series to your Up Next queue.

Physical debuts on Apple TV+ with three episodes on June 18th.
