Apple have unveiled the premiere date and a first-look at the upcoming period drama 'The Essex Serpent', starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston.

The series, based on the best-selling novel by Sarah Perry, will arrive on Apple TV+ on Friday May 13th with two episodes, with a new episode premiering each subsequent Friday through June 10th.

'The Essex Serpent' follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Tom Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.
