Today Apple announced through invites to the press that it will host a special event on December 2nd at 4pm Eastern in New York City. Headed by the tagline “Loved by millions. Created by the best.” the event is set to honour the company’s favourite apps and games of 2019.

While Apple has honoured developers in the past with its annual App Store end of year editorial, this year will see the first Apple event dedicated to highlighting the many talented third-party developers who make our lives richer through their own curiosity and creativity.

It’s unknown at this point whether Apple will live stream the award ceremony as Apple’s events page is yet to reflect todays announcement.

On November 1st, Apple TV+ will release ‘Snoopy in Space’, one of a slew of originals coming to the company’s new streaming service. To coincide with the shows launch, iconic Peanut characters from Charles M. Schulz will soon be part of a new Design Lab session for Today at Apple where attendees in Apple retail stores across the world will learn how to create their own astronaut in the iconic Peanuts style using the Procreate app on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. 

It’s unknown at this point whether clips of the show will make up some part of the session, however attendees will draw facial expressions to show emotion and mood, customise a colourful spacesuit and make their astronaut come alive in a share-worthy GIF. 

This is the first widely distributed Today at Apple session to leverage Apple TV+ original content following the sessions debut as a one-off on Sep 28th.

Keeping with tradition, Apple have confirmed that the company will hold a Fall event this year on September 10th at 10.00am Pacific.

Apple are expected to make a number of announcements with wide-spread rumours suggesting new additions to its iPhone, Apple Watch, HomePod and AirPod product lines.

The highly anticipated event could also feature launch details for Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, following the introductions of the subscription services in March.

A live stream has yet to be confirmed but is expected for whats set to be one of the most noteworthy Apple events in years.

 
 

Disney have today confirmed to the Verge that its upcoming Disney+ subscription service will be made available to Apple customers across Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac.

Integrating its Disney+ TV shows and movies with the Apple TV app’s Up Next feature, users will be able to add content to their queue which will launch the Disney+ app. Whilst this is great news, Disney have yet to commit to Apple channel support for the upcoming service . If they were to, it would allow users to sign up directly from the TV app, share across 6 family members through Family Sharing as-well-as view offline downloads and streams natively within the TV app.

Apple customers will be able to sign up to Disney+ for $6.99 a month through an in-app purchase once Disney+ launches on November 12th in the United States and Canada with the service launching a week later in the Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia . 

Of course with Disney+ working with Apple’s TV app, its possible that Apple Channel support is still being negotiated. Another possible scenario is that some details are being held back for Apple’s iPhone event in September with shared stage time only benefitting Apple and Disney.

Details of a launch in the United Kingdom and Ireland are expected to be revealed shortly following Ofcom’s report revealing Disney Life is set to close.
